2024 Summer Reading Programs
Register your child for our Summer Reading Program, by filling out this form and it will come directly to us. Please submit this form by June 1, 2024 and you will get a prize! Just come to the library to collect it.
Schedule:
This year’s theme is Read, Renew, Repeat and we will be focusing on the natural features of our world, how they benefit us and how we can enjoy the world along with them. Our events will be as follows:
Wednesday, June 12 10:00 a.m.: Dr. Michael Bechtel and his collection of exotic animals—All about creatures we’ve probably never seen
Wednesday, June 19 10:00 a.m.: Hunter Lott from the Grundy County Conservation Service - All about Iowa animals
Wednesday, June 26 10:00 a.m.: The Iowa State University Insect Zoo - All about our six-legged friends
Wednesday, July 3 10:00 a.m.: The University of Northern Iowa Tallgrass Prairie Center - All about the native plants of Iowa
Wednesday, July 10 10:00 a.m.: Zoo to You program by Blank Park Zoo - and picnic lunch
All our programs will be at the library, at the Memorial Hall or in the Discovery Garden. We will put a sign on the door.
